Reiki - what is it all
about?
It can be difficult to explain in detail what Reiki means. What is clear though is that for Mick, the author of this site and the owner of this business, it is something which has changed his life. He believes that it can change your life too. Reiki was first discovered in Japan in the late nineteenth century by a mystic, who has since become world famous.
The foundation of Reiki
occurred it is said, when Dr
Usui Micao, a bright and well
educated Buddhist monk in the
late 19th Century was engaged
in a retreat.
meditation, Usui had a
revelation. He had a vision of a
series of Sanskrit symbols,
which over the course of time
became the foundation of what
became known as Usui Reiki
healing.
After his awakening, Usui
established a healing clinic in
the nearby town of Kyoto, and
over the next years became
famous for his ability to use
this new energy for healing.
Following his death in 1926,
Reiki continued to develop.
Initially in Japan, and later
moving to the west.
